Online EMDR Therapy for Adults Anywhere in Colorado
EMDR Center of Denver is an online practice. Every session happens over secure video, so you can work with a formally EMDR-trained, licensed therapist from Denver, the Front Range, the Western Slope, or a mountain town, without a drive.
How does online EMDR therapy work?
Online EMDR follows the same eight phases as in-office EMDR. The only thing that changes is how bilateral stimulation is delivered. Instead of following a therapist’s hand, you follow a moving dot on your screen, listen to alternating tones through headphones, or tap your own shoulders or knees while your therapist guides each set.
Sessions run on a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You need a private space, a steady internet connection, and a device with a camera. A parked car works if home is busy. We cover the practical setup in your preparation sessions, and our post on whether virtual EMDR works walks through the research.
Is online EMDR as effective as in person?
For most people, yes. Research on remotely delivered EMDR shows meaningful symptom reductions, and the day-to-day experience in our practice matches it. Some clients find it easier to do vulnerable work from their own couch than in an unfamiliar office, and there is no drive home afterward when you feel tired or tender (see what is normal after a session).
Online EMDR is not the right fit for everyone. If you are in acute crisis, lack a private space, or need a higher level of care, we will say so in your consultation and help you find the right option.
Who can we work with?
We are licensed in Colorado, so we work with adults who live anywhere in the state: Denver and the metro suburbs, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Collins, Greeley, Grand Junction, Durango, and the mountain communities in between. Because of state licensing rules, we cannot see clients who live outside Colorado.
Our clinicians, Jeanne Cross, LCSW, LAC and Gessica Cross, LCSW, are licensed clinical social workers who completed formal EMDR training through EMDRIA-approved courses and are working toward EMDRIA certification.
What does it cost, and how do I start?
Start with a free 15-minute phone consultation. Standard sessions run about an hour; most EMDR intensives are 90 minutes or two hours. We are a self-pay practice and accept credit cards and HSA/FSA cards; current fees and the reasons many clients prefer self-pay are on the Rates page.
