We’re Jeanne and Gessica.
We’re glad you’re here.

We all have the desire to be 1) fully known and 2) fully loved — though oftentimes fear we must choose between the two. That if our past, insecurities, or flaws were fully known, we would lose out on the belonging and connection we crave.

We, at EMDR Center of Denver, will create a space for you to feel both fully seen and fully supported deep in your bones, no questions asked. No topic or thing shared is too “off limits” or taboo. We will remain warm, open, and non-judgmental — so you can find freedom from the weight and the pain that is holding you back and more fully create the life that you want.

Therapy sessions, right at home

Online EMDR therapy sessions and EMDR therapy intensives for Colorado adults.

We are trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a type of therapy highly effective for relief from trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, anger, and addiction. We offer both individual one-hour therapy sessions and two, three, and four-hour EMDR therapy intensives. Research shows EMDR improves the way you feel, the way you see yourself, and your ability to trust in yourself and others.

We are here to help you find effective relief and better create the life you want.

How It Works

Getting started is simple — and the first conversation is free.

“If I didn’t define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies for me and eaten alive.”

— Audre Lorde

In our work together, we will help you more fully create the life you want by ‘defining yourself for yourself’ — sifting through all the voices around you so that you may more fully find and honor your own. This process remains the task and the gift of a lifetime.

Why EMDR Therapy?

EMDR therapy is considered the “gold standard” therapy for all things trauma. EMDR initially became considered the most effective treatment for trauma in the 1980s among Vietnam veterans who were struggling to return to their former sense of self and life. EMDR gave them faster and more full relief than any other talk therapy, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). While initially developed for trauma, EMDR has since become an effective treatment for depression, anger, anxiety, and grief and loss.

Folks frequently tell us they feel a sense of relief immediately following most EMDR sessions — like they are white-knuckling their way through life just a little bit less. They start reporting gradual positive shifts in improved sleep, feeling more grounded in their body, and more able to enjoy the present moment within the first one to three EMDR sessions. They report this body sense continues to grow and become reflected literally in the way they see themselves and engage with the world. We have received reports from clients (also supported in research regarding EMDR) that their health tracking through their Oura ring, their Garmin watch, and blood test metrics regarding cortisol levels, body inflammation, and immunity gradually improve over the course of several months with no other identified deliberate life change besides EMDR therapy.

You’re In Good Company

Public figures are speaking openly about how EMDR therapy changed their lives. Tap a video to hear their story in their own words.

EMDR is amazing… When I did EMDR, stuff came out that I didn't know was there. It can find the root of why you got that trauma. EMDR is profound, because EMDR is like, “That's why I act like that… or this is why that happened.” When I did EMDR recently, I was able to go to my childhood self and say, “Hey, it's okay.”
Lil Jon
I love it. It [EMDR] saved my life… It's so weird because it's like watching a movie in your mind, but it's different than dreaming… I came out of it, and I've never had stage fright ever again.

I didn't realize what PTSD was… I would look left out of a car and just start sobbing, and I thought to myself, “I am a single parent and this child is going to absorb nothing but fear and trauma and shame from me in the most pivotal times of his life. And I don't want to drop that load of baggage onto my beautiful child.” So I discovered something called EMDR, which is the most healing thing. I was so scared to do it… What EMDR is doing is rewiring your brain synapses… What I realized from it is I kept putting myself in unsafe relationships because that is the most familiar feeling that I had.

I went to EMDR therapy for 3 months and it saved my life… The way I describe it is: talk therapy, to me, is treating an illness with medicine, and EMDR is like surgery. They just go in there, and cut it out… It severs the tie between the feeling and the [trauma], and it is truly unbelievable. I see it as the most profound medical discovery of our generation… [The therapist] discharged me in only 12 weeks… I am now so confident in my own skin.
